Let Me Update You

First off, a thousand times thank you for all your sweet comments about my blog’s birthday and enthusiasm for the giveaway! The giveaway has officially ended and the lucky winner was Katherine. Katherine, you’ll be seeing your winnings very soon :-)

Now, I know it’s been a while since my last post, so here’s what I’ve been up to:

Last Thursday, after a BLT at Blue Moon Burgers

Joel and I lined up at the Seattle Center for the midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises. While we were waiting, the fans next to us passed out Batman gummy candies to everyone who was in line. I immediately turned it over to read the ingredients and Joel said “I wonder if it’s gluten-free.” The woman next to me said “yeah, I already checked. I can’t eat gluten.” Turns out, she has Celiac Disease too!

We both took Friday off, since we knew we’d be staying up until 3am seeing the movie. We planned to drive across the mountains late in the morning to visit his parents in Eastern Washington. Instead, we spent most of the day sitting around the car dealership dealing with car troubles. The good news is, we got a really nice loaner car for our trip, and arrived late Friday night in style.

Eating gluten-free in Eastern Washington is always a different experience than in Seattle — there were certainly no burger restaurants with gf buns and dedicated French fry fryers. But, almost on accident, we ended up finding the BEST gf pizza I’ve eaten at a chain called Figaro’s.

This was not that pizza. But you get the gist.

While we love visiting Joel’s parents, it is always good to come home to familiar restaurants, and cooking in my own kitchen, and my cats.

Obviously, it’s been a busy week, but the biggest thing that’s kept me away from my blog is my new job. Yes, my friends, I am thrilled to share that I’m 1. officially a licensed massage practitioner, and 2. hired! One of my massage school teachers hired me to work at her clinic, and I couldn’t be more excited to begin my new career. I’ll share more soon.

SO many congrats on your new job. Ive always thought one of the best perks of being a massuse must be all the trade offs you can do – you’ll never have to pay to have your hair done/ taxes sorted/ chiropractor visits again!!
